Our attorneys have a broad range of legal experience and have practiced law locally and nationally. The firm’s primary practice areas are business transactions, real property, land use, municipal law, commercial, civil, coverage and employment litigation, taxation and tax controversies, trusts and estate planning, wine law, insurance coverage and banking law.

Tim Carmel, the firm's founding co-partner has practiced in San Luis Obispo since 1984 and expertly represents private and public clients with regard to their municipal and land use matters. Tim is city attorney for the City of Arroyo Grande and serves as district counsel to Cambria Community Services District, the Cayucos Sanitary District, and San Miguel Community Services District, as well as general counsel for a number of private water companies. Ziyad Naccasha, the firm’s co-founding partner, and Mike McMahon both have extensive experience working with large firms prior to moving to the Central Coast. Ziyad practiced in Chicago for 12 years and moved back to his hometown of San Luis Obispo in 2002. Mike practiced in Los Angeles for 13 years and moved to Paso Robles in 2005. Don Wilson also comes from the Los Angeles area, where he practiced for 35 years, specializing in a wide range of civil litigation matters. David Hirsch brings decades of experience in municipal law from his years as city attorney for the City of Lompoc and the City of Simi Valley. Mara Mamet spent 17 years working for the State Bar of California in various capacities within the legal department, including working as senior prosecutor, senior trial counsel and spending six of those years as a legal advisor. The firm further expanded in 2010 with the additions of Walter Millar and Walter Stuckey, who joined the firm as of counsel. Walter Millar acts as national counsel for marine manufacturers. Walter Stuckey represents automobile dealers, manufacturers, auto repair facilities and auto wrecking yards. In January 2011, the firm added Heather Whitham who previously served as a deputy city attorney for the City of Torrance and works in the firm's municipal law and transactional law practice areas. In July 2011, Alicia Gámez began supporting the firm's taxation and trust and estate planning practice groups. The firm welcomed Jon Ansolabehere in December 2011. Jon focuses his practice on real estate and municipal law. In 2012, the firm added Jane Smith, a taxation and transactional law lawyer, and Dallas Mosier, an estate and trust planning lawyer.
